What unit price means
Unit price is what you pay per kilogram, liter, or item. Bigger packs are not always cheaper: dividing total price by quantity shows the true cost per unit.
Why compare this way
Stores show different totals for different sizes. Normalizing by unit price helps you avoid packs that look cheap but cost more per kg or per dose.
When to use it
Use when choosing between two sizes of the same product, similar brands, or "buy more pay less" deals. Works in any currency as long as every product uses the same measure.
How to read the result
Three main parts:
- Live result beside each product: unit price updates as you type.
- Summary bar: best product, unit price, and percent saved vs the most expensive.
- Winner highlight on the row and a tie note when unit prices match.
Practical tips
- Convert grams to kg (or mL to L) before comparing, or use the same unit in every row.
- Include tax or shipping in the total price if that is what you actually pay.
- Unit price does not measure quality, expiry, or convenience. Use it for cost, not as the only criterion.

Limitations
The tool does not convert units automatically (g vs kg, mL vs L). It ignores coupons, cashback, or loyalty perks. Ties appear when unit prices match exactly.
Formula
For each product:
unit price = total price ÷ quantity
- Price / unit
- Cost of one measure (kg, L, each, etc.).

- Quantity in the chosen unit (same for all products).
Unit price is basic division used on labels and grocery comparators. There is no proprietary model beyond total price ÷ quantity.
Frequently asked questions
Do all products need the same unit?
Yes. The calculator does not convert grams to kilograms or milliliters to liters. Pick one unit and enter every quantity in it, or convert before typing.
What about "3 for 2" promos?
Put what you actually pay in the total price and the full quantity you take (including free items). Unit price reflects the whole deal.
Does it work in any currency?
Yes. Use the same currency for every total price. The result is in that currency per unit.
