Currency converter
Pick source and destination, check the suggested quote, and see the converted amount. Adjust the rate if your bank differs.
Quick conversions
Your data is not stored. Everything runs in your browser.
The suggested rate comes from a daily public quote (open-source aggregator) and may differ from your bank or card. You can edit it. Rounding is mathematical only. This tool does not replace your statement rate.
Why an editable-rate converter?
Rates change constantly and each provider quotes differently (bank, bureau, card). The tool suggests a public quote and lets you adjust the number you trust.
Why that matters
Mixing up source and destination or pasting a rate the wrong way around produces nonsense results. Keeping a fixed format (1 source = N destination) cuts that risk when planning a trip, an international purchase, or a report in another currency.
When to use it
Use it to estimate conversions with a public quote or your bank rate. Adjust the number if your statement differs. This is not a per-second live feed.
Basic steps
In practice:
- Choose the source currency (what you have) and the destination (what you want).
- Enter the amount. The conversion updates live. If needed, tap Adjust rate or the swap button.
- If you need to match coins or cents, use optional step rounding (e.g. 0.05).
Tips
- Cards and banks often use a conversion fee or spread different from a screen headline rate. Use the number that will hit your statement.
- If the result looks 10× too high or low, check that source and destination are the right way around and that the rate is 1 source = N destination.
- Rounding helps simulate change or smallest denominations, but it does not replace the institution’s rules.
Limitations
The suggested quote is public and daily, with no taxes or fees baked in. Banks and cards apply their own spread. Currency codes only label the result. You can always edit the rate.
Arithmetic
Destination = amount × rate, with rate as 1 source = N destination. Step rounding: round(value / step) × step.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my rate differ from the “official” one online?
Institutions charge a spread, fees, or use different timestamps. The automatic suggestion is only an editable starting point.
Where do I get the rate?
You can use the suggested quote (daily public source) or paste one from your bank, card, or bureau. The suggestion is not your statement rate.
What if my bank quotes the opposite way?
The tool expects 1 source = N destination. If the bank shows the reverse (e.g. 1 destination = N source), tap Swap currencies: the pair flips and the rate becomes 1/N automatically.
